Health and Welfare

Our top priority is keeping our members and their families healthy and strong – and our comprehensive health coverage reflects this commitment. Our Health & Welfare Fund covers everything from routine check-ups to vision care, diabetes management, free health coaching, and more.

Pension

As Laborers, we work hard every day and deserve a great retirement. Our Pension Fund provides a guaranteed monthly income for you and your family when you retire. Just determine your eligibility and start your path towards a stable retirement.

Annuity

Our Annuity Fund invests contributions from your employer on your behalf, to grow your retirement savings over time. If you’ve worked 100 hours in the past year as a union Laborer, you’re eligible to begin investing.

Legal Services

Our in-house attorneys provide free legal counsel, support, and representation for up to 3 qualifying cases per year. Our services cover a wide range of situations, including domestic relations, citizenship applications, real estate and rentals for primary residences, debt, traffic violations, criminal matters, and more.

Your eligibility to participate in Plan A or Plan B for each six-month Eligibility Period will depend on the number of recorded hours of employment you accumulate with one or more contributing employers within a period of 12 consecutive months as follows:

Plan A -1,000 recorded hours within a 12-month Qualifying Period = coverage during a 6-month Eligibility Period
Plan B -700 recorded hours within a 12-month Qualifying Period = coverage during a 6-month Eligibility Period

You vest after you have earned five pension credits (five years), provided you have earned 250 hours in 1998 or later.

You vest after completing 100 hours of covered employment during a calendar year.

Using your smartphone, scan the QR code. If you do not have a QR scanning app installed on your phone you can download one for free from the Apple App or Google Play stores for free. After successfully scanning the QR code on the back of your Photo ID Card , your phone will automatically open the website. You will be prompted to enter your MLBF number and password. Your phone will already have input your MLBF number. In the password field type in 123 then click submit. This will allow you to see all the contractors and all hours you worked for the last 3 years.
